Event Details

Kehinde Wiley rose to national attention in 2018 for painting former President Obama’s official portrait, but how much do you know about him? Enjoy this fun, interactive event where you will learn more about Kehinde as an artist and person as well as experiment with his “field of power” in your own painting. Librarian Cindy will lead you in a paint-along where you will transform a picture of someone you like or respect into a Kehinde-esque portrait. It is recommended that you bring your own picture (can be from a magazine or print-out, approximately 8x10 in size) that you don’t mind cutting up and painting on, but all other supplies will be provided.

This event is part of the PRIDE at PSPL series. All are welcome!
